The video for the Posh goal doesn't show as well as it should just how bone idle lazy our captain was at trying to stop them going past him. Jogging like he was in pre season training, with a player sprinting past him. Luca cannot be pleased with his effort there. Our goal has to be one of the goals of the day. Russell is so underrated and deserved his MOTM, sorry "player" of the match.
I thought goal of the day material myself, then I saw the EFL highlights and jesus there were some absolute worldies knocked in up and down the country.
You may be right to criticise Connells effort there but look at the stroll back from mdg. If Connell was jogging then mdg was laid down getting a sun tan
As soon as the Peterborough forward nipped the ball in his own half, 60 yards from our goal, none of our players were going to catch him. We had 3 players - MDG, Lembikisia and Connell within hand-shaking distance of each other, our shape was awful. After that it was just a question of whether Peterborough would mess it up, but their forward finished perfectly.
Having watched the goals again for the first time, Connell MDG & Lembikisa needs a firm bolloking, I see lads run back faster on a Thursday night at Honeywell…….the latter is supposed to a speedy fill back and looked like he was jogging at best!!!
Lembikisa, Rodrigues, Lewis (jury vaguely out on the latter), you'd not be shouting about that trio on your achievement section of your CV.
Yes a few seconds before that video starts connell should really tackle the man but just sticks a foot out gets run past and then is playing catch up.
