    Hello

When and Why Barnsley changed their crest from the Toby Tyke to the present one? What does it represent?

    Thanks,

    Pedro,

The New one also represents the council. I dont know why it was changed though. I prefered the old one.

Toby was great but my all time favourite was the oakleaf and well.

It seems more connected to the club. The present one I think looks just like the council badge.

Bring back the old logo I say.

    We could

Put it on the "issues to be raised with the club" forum.

It was put to a vote by the club to the fans and that one won.

    Simple as.

The current badge is the trraditional coat of arms of the town of Barnsley. The two men are a coal miner on the right and a glass blower on the left. Both were important industries in the area. The motto is 'spectemur acendo'. I am not sure what it means but if it is from latin then it could mean 'set the spectators alight' Not literally i hope.
