Time wasting

Felt like my son's Sunday league with Collins having to fetch the ball after it had gone out of play all the time!

 

Must have felt like it does for the opposition when Collins theatrically falls on the ball in the second minute of most games

We can't complain about time wasting when we are embarrassing with it most games. Even when we're losing sometimes which is weird but true

 

Yep, out of every championship team I've seen this season we're conformably the worst offenders for time wasting.

Embarrassing is the right word.

 

Yes, but our ball boys throw it back onto the pitch. Were you at the game because I've honestly not encountered that before, I've seen them being slow to throw the ball back but not to do it at all?

 

Really? Over the years our ball boys have been famous for refusing to return the ball. There have been numerous threads on here about how players have had to climb into empty stands to collect the ball at oakwell

 

They've been slow, not non existent!

I'm not blaming it as the reason for us not getting anything from the game BTW, but he was having to cover some distance!

 

But in that instance the ball’s in play, and Collin’s is doing nothing wrong. Helen is referring to ball boys and hence the ball from out of play.Totally incorrect to compare the 2

I think you’re wrong, we’ve been nowhere near in enough positions to need to be time wasting the number of games we ‘ve lost

 

No time-wasting is referred to when 1 side is benefitting from delaying the ball. I’ve seen it at Oakwell when it’s been the same for both sides. There are plenty of things to knock the team and club for, but this isn’t one of them

Yes obviously one side benefits but unless I'm being thick here if we are winning 1 nil and our ball boys leave the ball for both our side AND the opposition then we are the ones benefitting both times.

The ball boys at Oakwell have been famous for time wasting and being **** over the years. Our players are pretty famous for time wasting. Collins time wastes at nil nil (presumably got a nice clean sheet bonus in his contract)

 

I was referring to many times throughout the game for both sides when the ball isn’t being returned as quick as it could. We don’t do it to benefit us, we just do it.

 

Not thick, just being pedantic and on the anything to knock the club for mantra as per usual. Helen mentions she hasn’t seen that type of time wasting at a game before, but you have to try and Tommy top her with something negative about us, that ‘s not totally correct for a start

 

Helen says a lot of things. She's sometimes wrong. There's nothing wrong with pointing out to her that we are guilty of time wasting too. It isn't a crime.

 

We're the only side I've ever seen time wasting when losing. Honestly, we're the worst when it comes to that...

 

I agree Collins can time waste, it was more the fact that Collins was nearly at the carpark retrieving the ball!!
