It was the first time I've been over this season. It looked odd walking down to the ground as Grove Street school is missing which seemed to bring the West Stand into full perspective. I'd been undecided in recent debates about it but it does stand out now as an embarrassing mess. The sooner it gets updated or replaced the better. I wasn't sure until the morning whether I'd be able to get to the game. £27 is just too much and will discourage many casual customers ESPECIALLY when, without fail, you're given a ticket for one of the worst seats in the ground. Far top corner of the East stand or front row of the Ponty. The game was terrible. We were poor. I've seen us be superb this season too. Swings and roundabouts. We're Barnsley in the third tier of English football not Barcelona. We're not immune from playing badly. We havent been since I started watching them in 1965 and I very much doubt it's going to change. I spent all afternoon walking to and from the game and during it surrounded by Barnsley fans. I heard people laughing about the fact that it certainly wasn't a classic but no comments about how s**t the club is, team is, certain players are etc. Nice to know that the vocal few on here aren't representative of the whole. It was fecking cold! You reds.
Fair report. It was a poor match but some people just don't seem happy with a scrappy three points, but then some people are never happy!
Said before the game i'd take a scrappy 1-0. After the goal, we allowed Bristol to bully us. Moore was isolated with no support. Bahre and Moncur were never anywhere near him. McGheehan was anon. Take it, move on, 3 points + clean sheet. You Reds.
I didn't really enjoy yesterday's match but we got back to winning ways and we have to hope that the manager see's what we see and amends it accordingly. The official's were POOR and there is nothing any of us can do against that. ANY win is welcome we haven't got a divine right to win every game!
