5 million in for a lad whose played 5 Championship games.

Defence, Midfield and Attack all strengthened.

Tuton and Moncur loaned out getting game time.

If Conor et al stay, this will probably be the most successful deadline day we've ever had.

might be getting another £5 million ish yet

if Hourihane goes.... I am wondering if Morsy is his replacement.

If he is , and as a loan, then that's a bit risky as Wigan could re-call him.... however the money from Connor could be used in the January window should this scenario happen.

Strongly doubt Hourihane's going anywhere also Morsy very different type of player to Hourihane, he's a battler, makes alot of tackles and sits in front of back 4

I don't think players can be recalled any more, can they? I also think that Morsy is the replacement for Moncur, who I guess they might not think is quite up to speed yet.

I think we need to keep a bit of perspective here.

All 4 newcomers sound more than the usual squad fillers. These are exciting times.

But loaning Moncur out must mean that summat's gone wrong there.

We are not a club that can afford to pay the price we apparently did, to then loan a player out.

How are we developing him if he's at another club? We aren't teaching him. We aren't building him into our team. He isn't breathing Barnsley.

He's hard to fit into our team. Our quite simple yet cunningly brilliant formation that other sides struggle to cope with cos it's cunning in it's simplicity!

We'd have been better finding a square peg for a square hole.

I think we realise we,ve made a mistake Peterborough were our competition when we signed him,it,s obvious that he,ll end up their.Shame was really excited when we signed him.

I think he's probably found it difficult to adapt to our style of play. However he is on a 3 year contract and there is still time for him to develop into the player PH wants him to be. PH has also have time to assess what's in required at this level and maybe he thinks Moncur can't deliver at the moment. I don't think it's a waste of money, because if he scores a load of goals in L1 his value will increase anyway. I think he can still turn out to be a top player.

Whatever happens from here, the team at Oakwell have done a great job this transfer window.

Interest in Mawson well managed until a proper bid came through, then swiftly and sensibly re-invested in the next targets.

No panic/pressure to spend the Stones money.

Bid for Marley turned down, and most likely interest fended off in Roberts and Hourihane.

My only gripe is the upheaval all of this causes in a squad after the start of a season, but that's the same for everyone. Don't understand why the window can't close one week before a season starts.

    Well done BFC.

just what was the point in signing tuton last season, hes almost as bad/pointless as otis khan was from the Blunts. and halifax were relegated without him as their top scorer (and its why i thought dover & wrexham would also struggle this time without stefan payne & kayden jackson).
as for moncur, things didnt fit to begin with and just look at how comfortable we've looked with the more usual hourihanne & scowen partnership. it looked like we would have to sacrifice a striker and go with just 1 up front, if we wanted moncur to fit in properly.

Tuton isn't a great loss to be fair. He was brought in to develop and it just doesn't sound like he's met the standards expected. Moncur is disappointing for me though. Feels like summat has gone on to me. Fortunately we've had a £10m+ windfall to cushion the blow. Otherwise I think there would be a lot more noise about this.

Keep the faith brothers & sisters.

We have kept Conor, got good money for Alfie & if we have realised at least in the short term that Moncur isn't a good fit for our formation / playing ethos we have given him some game time at a club with a good developmental record like our own.

I know nothing of the new recruits, but i knew nothing of Alfie, Conor, Kent, Isgrove & Fletcher when we got them.

I have complete faith in our manager.

Obviously one or two won't work out, but we have a larger pool of players to work with & I reckon 3 of these signings at least will go on to be regulars this season, with a couple as cover in key areas (like the left back / CB Cole)...

    Not bad business.

Think Conor will go in January. Moncur may be looked at then, but I think we may have eyes elsewhere.

I think that the way Scowen has adapted to the Championship and with Hourihane staying, it decreased the pressure on PH to retain two reserve central midfielders, and hence he could be loaned out.

I think we had plans to alternate between a 4-2-3-1 & a 4-4-2 system but through a combination of 4-4-2 working & us been able to sign Armstrong & Bradshaw there's not much chance of us playing only one striker when we've got Winnall, Watkins, Armstrong & Bradshaw.

Moncur probably expects first team football so unlike a Lee, or a Payne or Yiadom he wants to go get games. Hopefully he'll do well
