I called in on the way to the ground for one. This was after it all kicked off, I saw an oldish bloke sat on the benches outside with paramedics around him treating him for a head wound. I hadn’t a clue what had gone on and presumed he fell over or something.

Was strange though, was still really busy and we managed to get a beer in before the pub closed. You’d think the police would’ve shut the place down after that.

Did feel abit sick to think if I’d been there half an hour earlier I could’ve been caught up in it all. Feel for those that did. How this stuff still goes on is beyond me.

And some on here asked why football was stopped but things like Rugby was allowed to carry on during the initial period of mourning, here's your answer

This may or may not have happened, I personally think it wouldn’t, we’ll at least not large scale. However, this is not the reason why the PL and EFL decided not to play that weekend, you give the PL and EFL too much credit by suggesting that

Bet you were disappointed when every single match in England observed the minutes silence impeccably, so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Sounds like you were waiting for something to happen so that you could have a go at football fans

Nah not really I spent 40 years going to matches so didn't need a minutes silence to pass judgement on what vast numbers of fans are like.
Oh and don't think Anfield was pin drop silent but aye ho

The actual game you’re on about observed the minute silence impeccably.

Apparently it's on the increase across Europe... maybe it never declined?

Maybe you’re right, it may have always been there.

I’ve traveled around Europe watching England and personally only felt threatened once in my memory. That was in Bulgaria.

Recently went to Germany to watch England vs Germany and had an incredible time. All the Germans I met were friendly and welcoming.

I've had many a good night with German fans.
Even once took in St Pauli v Fortuna Dusseldorf, and had a great weekend.
As for England abroad; i found Albania a bit tricky. Turkey was worse in Izmir lol
