Beginning to think everybody was watching the tennis. The Swiss are certainly giving Spain plenty to think about
Don't think that was a straight red. Took the ball clean as a whistle. Alan Little would be sent off every match by those standards.
Not a red for me. And I'm fed up with Walton seemingly only ever agreeing with the on-field decision, often despite literally everyone else disagreeing
Thought it was a foul as the ‘non-tackling’ leg caught him on the follow- through, but it was a foul that’s all. Yellow would’ve been harsh, Red was ridiculous
Can see the argument that it might have been a foul (though personally I don't think it should be, it's a contact sport). But whether it's a foul or not is pretty immaterial within the context of the game. As you say, even a yellow would have been pretty harsh. I'm still struggling to fathom on what planet that was a red.
Had some hope that ridiculous red card decision by the English referee would be rescinded by VAR. Then realised the video referee was English, so just backing up the stupid decision of his mate. Yellow at best. Prem refs worst in Europe.
I was flicking between the two and then doing taxi duties. Will properly watch the Italian match later though.
Well, there were some s**t penalties there and some good saves. Probably a fair result in the end but well played Switzerland.
