I didn't go to yesterday's game but according to the newspaper reports I've read and the clips I've seen on Sky and Channel 5 we created several chances and could have got something from the game. One disappointment was the space between Scowen and our nearest defender when he hit the winner. Over the coming weeks the lads have got to knuckle down, battle for every ball and claw their way out of the trouble we now find ourselves in. To my mind whilst recognising our current shortcomings, it's unreasonable at this stage of the season to say we're doomed when there are still sixteen games and forty eight points still up for grabs. It's patently clear we are in a real dogfight alongside probably ten teams all battling to stay up. Between now and early May ,the outcome of the results of the teams from position 15 to 24 playing each other will have a massive bearing on the outcome and will determine who will survive. I've been looking at the remaining fixtures for the teams that could still be involved. At home Forest play : Hull City, Reading, Birmingham and Barnsley and travel to Burton,QPR and Bolton. At home QPR play: Bolton, Sunderland and Birmingham and travel away to play Hull. At home Wednesday play: Reading and Bolton and are away to Barnsley, Sunderland, QPR and Hull. At home Reading play: Bolton, QPR and Sunderland and are away to the teams in fourteenth and above. At home Birmingham play: Barnsley, Hull and Burton and travel to play Bolton and QPR. At home Bolton play: Sunderland and Birmingham and travel away to QPR, Barnsley and Burton. At home Barnsley play: Wednesday, Burton and Bolton and we travel away to Birmingham and Hull. At home Hull play QPR and Barnsley and travel away to Birmingham and Burton. At home Sunderland play Burton and they are away to Bolton and QPR. At home Burton play Hull and Bolton and travel to play us on Tuesday 20th February. We have to get something out of the games against Wednesday, Burton and Bolton at home and hope we can turn Birmingham and Hull over away. It might be asking a lot to get the full fifteen points out of the five games, but if we can ten, we would probably need a minimum of thirteen from our other eleven games to avoid the drop. It's not going to be easy, but if we all get behind Hecky, Jamie and the team, it can be done. Come on you Reds.
