There's a lot of history in it, supporting different sides in the Civil War, one being mainly Catholic the other Protestant, Queen Victoria choosing Newcastle over Sunderland when she was choosing which to make a city, its one of them that's a genuine rivalry between the two cities not just the football clubs.
