Sunderland have shown that they're nervy at home (especially early on) with opponents taking the lead in 8 out of Sunderland's 16 home games. Whilst Sunderland haven't gone on to lose any of those 8 games, they've only come back to win 2 of them. When Gillingham have conceded first away from home they've failed to win a single game and drawn only one. However when they have scored first in 7 out of 15 games they've not lost, whilst going on to win 5 whilst and draw 2.
    • Sunderland: Last 8 games Home | W4 | D4 | L0
    • Gillingham: Last 8 games Away | W3 | D1 | L4
    • Sunderland have conceded at least one goal in 75% of their home games.
    • Gillingham have scored one goal in 75% of their away games.
    • Sunderland in the first 10 minutes have scored 0 goals and conceded 2.
    • Gillingham in the the first 10 minutes have scored 2 goals and conceded 2.
In short - a big opening 15 mins or so for Gillingham. If they can get their noses in front they stand a chance of scraping a draw. However their record of coming from behind gives them little chance if Sunderland nick one first. I'd expect a Sunderland win, but it could be a bit tight for them again, especially if the fans get a little jumpy.

Sunderland, Gillingham and us have past history.

We beat them on the last day of the season from 2 down and sent them into a relegation playoff with Gills who beat them over the two legs.

Unfortunately Sunderland have scored heavily against them since then.
