Wonderful memorable music you can sing along to. Now Lloyd Webber..... can't think of a single tune. Totally forgettable even if I could remember one in the first place.
I’m not Lloyd Webbers greatest fan and prefer Roger’s and Hammerstein too but that’s somewhat harsh Even you must remember “Don’t cry for me Argentina “ or “Jesus Christ Superstar”
Funnily enough I went to visit my Dad in his care home yesterday. Along with a multitude of physical ailments he is nearly deaf & now has alzheimer's. Two young lasses from down south put on a performance of "Annie" at the care home, (Water Royd). Their voices were sublime & at least I enjoyed it! Some great tunes. "Hard Knock Life" & "Tomorrow" are classic tunes.
A bit harsh that. I doubt there are many people who were kids in the 70s /80s who don’t know “Any dream will do” from Joseph, or “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from Evita, or “The Phantom of the Opera”. It’s not all my cup of tea, but he has written some fabulous music in my opinion. I was lucky enough to see Elaine Paige in Sunset Boulevard, and her performance of “With one Look” was just breathtaking. Instant standing ovation, and probably the most taken aback I have ever been by a performance. It’s a matter of taste, and fair enough if you don’t like it, but he certainally has plenty of memorable and very famous tunes to his credit.
It annoys me that he’s a massive Tory but I know every single word to Joseph off by heart, most of Cats and will know the odd songs from other things he’s done too.
Eeee that's....Happy talk... lol... no doubt ...you are gonna wash that man right out of your hair...and send him on his way.lol..
No fan of musicals but I'd imagine more people under the age of 60 recognise his songs more than any other composer, by a long shot.
