I don’t see anything wrong with it if everyone is happy with it. It’d be complicated to do in our society which lends itself to having one partner but if they can get around that then good on them. I absolutely couldn’t be arsed though. Being around people drains me (with the exception of my husband for some reason) and I just wouldn’t have the energy to keep having to socialise with multiple partners.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it JD. I just don't see the need to put a special name on it, make it a "lifestyle" choice etc.
The current trend for pigeon holing people drives me nuts to be honest. Everybody is poly amorist in some form or another until they meet someone they want to settle down with. Then they stop. Some people never meet that person.
It's how the world has worked for ever.

I read it quickly so might have misread it but isn’t the point that they have multiple ‘serious’ partners at once? I don’t think most people do that until they meet someone. They may casually date a few people at the very beginning (often in secret or at least not advertising it) but most people expect ‘exclusivity’. There probably should be a name for it, there’s a name for when it happens without consent (cheating) so it makes sense to have a name for when it happens with it, if only to have the vocabulary to be able to discuss it without having to describe it every time.

Hmm, well maybe I'm just in I can't believe it mode. I have no objection to it, I just don't see the need to invent a name for it. I guess it gets somebody a pay cheque for writing a lifestyle article about it.
I think I might submit one to the BBC about folk who want a nice garden, a dog and a BMW. I just need a fancy name. :)
