Once in a night club in Doncaster in the late 70s and my two mates were stood chatting two lasses up .from a hen do that was in...the 3 of us worked at Lyons bakery at the time
Anyway I was leaning on a pillar earwiging in on their conversation steadily drinking away fair chuckling to myself listening to the garbage they were spouting
The pair of them were really going for it trying their best to impress the lasses...at the time working on oil rigs was very well paid and a very prestigious job...and these two were making out big time thats what they did for a living and.the girls were hanging on to every word one was fair drooling plus they weren't aware that I was listening in either
I turned from the pillar and asked my two mates are you ready for another drink I'm going to the bar.....
Suddenly one of the girls asks in a mocking fashion do you work on the oil rigs too like your mates.....No love I don't was my reply ....my two mates stood there wide eyed but giving me an icey stare wondering what I was about to say next
One of the lasses Looking down her nose at me asked with attitude
What do you do then
Me love i replied....I take them two silly buggers to work most weeks
Quick as a flash the other lass snapped ( shoulders swaying finger pointing lip curled up) ...You can't do, these two work on the oil rigs
As calm as a cucumber I replied
Yes love I know...how do you think they get to work then eh....a bemused look came across their faces a pregnant pause...before anyone could reply.i continued I'm the fxxking helicopter pilot that takes them to work ....turned and went to the bar
On returning I found myself to be very popular with the pair of them and unpopular with my mates one of the lads asking what was that load of bollxxks about....my reply well you started it.... lol
