What a truly excellent thread this is. Lots of really insightful and reasoned discussion. No personal insults, shrieking or hijacking. I'm sure we used to get this quality of debate far more regularly back in the day, or maybe I'm just wearing my Rammell-shaded glasses?
Perhaps we should do it like Spanish teams do and insert a minimum release clause fee for every player I know the amounts they use are crazy but a player would then have the right to move and the club would get the fee they had been happy to receive when the player was signed.
