Anybody been? Can anybody explain what it’s like? Where is it? Is it any good? Can you see the match from in there? Thinking about upgrading, but I’m not really sure what to expect. It’s only an extra fiver, so the sceptic in me thinks it might not be much cop. TIA
It's got a brown tint to it. It's round. It's down below. I doubt you could see the match from there but you could whistle through it. If your upgrading for an extra fiver it might not have the brown tint.
I've "upgraded" for the Fleetwood game. My understanding is that you don't watch the game there, it's just somewhere warm to get a drink and some grub.
I'm thinking of getting the Ponte end upgrade. For an extra fiver, a steward finds you a toilet that doesn't have coke on the tank, and the bird **** on your seat is from a dove instead of a pigeon.
What if you could buy pie n pint vouchers for a fiver? I reckon that could catch on. The pies are ten a penny straight from the freezer and it's warm Carling from a plastic bottle. They'd be making and fans happy at paying £5 rather than £7.40. Food for thought.
To be honest, I'm not sure it would. I don't know many people who don't have a drink at the ground because of the price. It's not much more now than going to somewhere like the Garrison. Obviously the quality isn't as good. I have a feeling that anyone who wants a pint at the match, gets one. So the club can charge £4.50+ (I'm not sure of the price) knowing it would sell. I think service is the main issue; having to get in the queue at the 35th minute if I want a pint at half time is what puts me off.
