I know it's late but got me thinking... any reason why we have released bird and greatorex?

Really thought they had a future with us?

Bird broke through in 2017. Probably the same scenario as Danny Rose. If he was going to press on he'd have done it and had to move on.

Some of them such as fielding too. Didn't expect them to get released. Looking at bird I understand

Bird barely seemed to even feature in the under-23s last season. Not sure if he had injury troubles, or just wasn’t seen as good enough.

Kendrick seems to be highly thought of, and has probably overtaken Greatorex in terms of development. Not to mention that we already have two relatively young first-team goalkeepers, and a couple of goalkeepers at younger levels that have England caps.

Jared bird never kicked on, and they seem to think more of Henry Kendrick than Jake Greatorex; which given he’s a year younger too makes it make perfect sense to move Jake on.

I hope he finds a club but in the current climate he might have to drop a fair few levels and get a job too unfortunately, unless a league two club need a cheap backup option.

Imo and I hope so that lower clubs will look at the academy they come from and take a chance
Our academy has a good name in football and youngsters have been given a chance elsewhere because of it .
