Back to conceding 2 goals a game again.... needs to be tighter if its not going to be another relegation battle...

Sing the praises of Bree, Roberts White and Davies all you want, but they must improve individually, and as a unit.

I think Alfie as been the one constant.... but may not be here much longer, we'll see

I get the concern about the number of goals conceded, but it's not all down to the defenders. Other players have switched off on their defensive duties as well. Also, perhaps our style of play will leave more opportunities for our opponents particularly at this level. No need to panic though, had Payne's effort gone in we could 've been talking about a good win or a draw.

Alfie gifted them another chance on Saturday when he did his usual and gave the ball away needlessly on the edge of the box.

I agree wi that... 442 took us up, but am not sure it will keep us up, especially away from home

Midfielders didn't defend very good for the 2 goals yesterday. Payne should have scored but so should have Nahki Wells in 1st half.

Dont agree with that at all 442 at home will reap more rewards than disapointments with the high pressing game. But we need a big bruising ball winner/holder with quick support play for away games imo

I didn't go yesterday so listened to Dee darr commentary ( which isn't very good ) and read reports and watched brief highlights. However, from that you can easily make out that there 2 very well taken goals, the players were afforded too much room. I believe we'll be fine this season as long as lessons are learned.

Evidently 4-4-2 works. We have made a good start and haven't put in a bad performance yet.

Personally I'd rather be entertained, with epic victories like against QPR & Derby mixed in with the odd 4 goal defeat or last minute heartbreak than play it safe and try to grind out 1-0s.

You don't agree with it? It was a fact wasn't it?

Bree was **** yesterday. He may have all the potential to be a good player but haven't been impressed with him for a while now.

And I do feel Roberts has been better than Mawson in the four league games this season.

Strongly disagree. James was excellent against Derby & QPR. He did ok yesterday too considering how under pressure he was.

I said that we drew 1-1 whilst playing 442 and lost 1-0 after the switch to 451. You said you didn't agree

And if Payne's effort had gone in at 451 ?
I think to pick incidents during a game is being g picky tbh.
If we'd had a big ball holding / winning forward with Bradshaw / Watkins in support will ,spread over the majority of away games reap decent rewards.
442 at home is a must imo.

I didn't pick incidents during the game. Somebody claimed that 442 doesn't work for us, I pointed out that whilst playing 442 we drew 1-1, after the switch to 451 we lost 1-0. That isn't picking out incidents

Couldn't really do anything about either goal I don't think, pulled off a couple of good saves but his distribution was poor in my opinion. Held onto it far too long at times with players screaming at him for the ball and put it out of touch a few times too. Not a bad performance though by any stretch

The width of a post away from being top of the league. Well the width of a post and 8 minutes.

Whilst it is concerning that we've conceded 8 goals in 4 games, I don't think it necessarily points to us being in a relegation battle this season.

I don't think our summer recruitment is quite over, I feel we need another 2 defenders (3 if Mawson leaves). But you need to remember that with the exception of White, none of our defenders, or goalkeepers have played at this level before and therefore will take time to get accustomed. Roberts and Mawson in particular proved last season that they can improve as the season goes on. We had the same discussion this time last year and ended the season keeping clean sheets for fun.

Pretty sure we had the same discussion the year before too. I appreciate that we've since been promoted, but these are Championship quality defenders, I think that much is clear.

Have faith. It will sort itself out.
