Is it possible to have the recruitment policy the club have written in black and white and made a sticky on this board. After every defeat we have this season the recruitment policy will be questioned, funny enough it's not mentioned after we win.I like so many others listened to the owner and Stendel telling us how the transfer system works at Oakwell but everytime we lose (which isn't very often) the same people on here and twitter for example who have some agenda against the club and owners come out with the same tripe. The owners pick the transfers, players are thrown at Stendel to sort out. Just a couple of the stupid childish comments I have seen on various social media sites. So if you Gally or any other site admin can have the policy written at the top of the board it might save simple folk like me having to remind people how it all works.
Why oh why can’t we sign some experienced players? Perhaps we will never see the likes of Clayton Blackmore, Ian Woan, Don Goodman, and Paul Warhurst wearing a reds shirt ever again.
The sticky should simply read, sell assets, buy children. Irrespective of what the manager desperately asks for.
We aren’t allowed to mention these. We have to take polarised positions that never change over time. Whatever happened to diversity, mix and balance? The great thing about the days of Redfearn, Hendrie et al was it’s diversity. Old, young, overseas, local, ex top flight, youth, non league, academy, experience, rawness. But what an utterly beautiful blend.
I think the sticky needs doing urgently people aren't listening to what Stendel said regarding recruitment.
There's buying young and buying kids, at the minute we're buying kids for a man's job. I wish them well.
Awfully selective their Donks old boy.. we could play Top Trumps all night on young verses old signings over the years I'll just mention one player who played yesterday .. Kadeem Harris, who came to us as a young loan signing. Played a dozen games and looked ordinary to poor. But yesterday with the bit of experience under his belt made our current youngsters look ordinary to poor.. Our transfer policy is purely for the owners benefit..
I would suggest to you sir to stay off social media or it will drive you insane.. if your looking on social media to back up your own opinions then you haven't a clue what social media is. You will find them, but also lots and lots of opposing views as well. You will not and cannot ever win an argument on said social media, cos there's always an alternative view to yours. If you haven't twigged that yet, then more fool you. Keep banging your head against the wall.
Of course it is... The owners need us to succeed in order to get a return on their investment. Any notion that a small short term profit on players is significant is at best naive and at worst utterly stupid. Again - they're taking none of that profit out - buying more and hopefully better in order to gain long term success based on sound finances.
For a start I'm not on any social media sites at all.No twitter,no Facebook,no Instagram etc.Occasionally I read other sites not only Barnsley ones but other teams as I have an interest in football full stop. Some of the things I have read have been links from the BFC twitter account.I don't want an argument with anyone and I certainly won't be banging my head against a wall.My op was about some people that are not listening to what the owner and Daniel Stendel said regarding recruitment.
No one could possibly dispute that it’s a business investment by the owners but I get the impression that they also have developed an emotional attachment that hopefully will temper their pure financial instincts. Conway, in particular, hasn’t put a foot wrong in my opinion.
On the other hand wouldn’t have seen Ronnie Glavin play for us if the current policy was in force then.
Yeah and it's one of the biggest myths in Football. The first season the Class Of 92 played a significant amount of games they won the league..... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995–96_Manchester_United_F.C._season But they were heavily helped by playing games alongside a lot of experienced pros to help them and learn off such as Schmeichel, Keane, Irwin and Cantona. The press would have you believe a group of inexperienced kids on their own won a lot of trophies for Man United, but that's not what happened.
I think long term success is viewed as making the club as profitable as possible then selling it on for a massive profit. Selling players at huge profit is the quickest way to makea us a profitable business, re investing is also smart under said policy. The balance is to make sure the club stays clear of relegation while this is going on. But I also get the feeling that another relegation wouldn't be cause for panic to the owners either.
