    With out googling,

What powers do the "Covid Marshalls" now have with regards to enforcing you to self isolate?

What rights do you have if you have been mistakenly identified as a close contact to a government official?

My understanding is they have no powers, but are there to advise and guide, but are expected to call and be supported by Police if situation requires.

    Obviously didn’t know that, thanks.
My immediate thought would be if someone came upto me in high viz waving a bit of paper demanding to know who I am and where they I was going, they would be told to do one and would refuse to answer any questions.

Depends on the legal term of reasonable force surely. Local officials and those working for the Sec of State would initially issues warnings or fines. If someone fails to comply then it would move through the ''conflict model''. Basically asking nicely all the way up being arrested. No different to what would happen if you didn't pay for not picking up dog mess or fly tipping.
In short be a c*ck get treated like a c*ck and don't come crying if you've not played ball. I think it's a sensible approach. If folk acted responsibly then there would be no need for local lockdowns.
I hate the idea of lockdown and I feel pubs and the catering industry along with numerous other responsible groups and businesses have been vilified unfairly.
I'm still of the opinion that those who let the side down need to be made to wear a prominent piece of clothing with an offensive logo describing their behaviour.

Everything's getting rammed through under the Coronavirus Act/Public Health.

Means normal scrutiny can and is being bypassed.

The correct answer to both questions is "Who gives a ****?"

And no, I didn't google that.

I don't agree at all with stuff being passed through without scrutiny, but these are basic civil powers in line with other areas of enforcement.
Now if the military were called in to do this then it's a different ball game and I think there would be civil unrest eventually.
Let the c*cks get fined (like Icke and Piers Corbyn) or put in gaol and the rest of us be responsible. Fingers crossed then we might be ok this winter to have a few beers in front of a pub fire whilst filling our faces.

as of 00:01 Monday morning an over zealous clipboard warrior can legally use force to make you isolate. Without training.

Remind me again, given your back ground in law enforcement what training you had to undertake to understand how to and when to use force, what counts as excessive and in proportion...

Oh and if they get the wrong David Curries Mullet ie mistaken identity you have no choice but to self isolate. Unless you can afford the fines.

Thats two of the latest Laws signed off during Boris's bath time. . .

Again to get to the point where you are forced to stay indoors it would mean there's either a mass outbreak or you're knowingly breaking the law. Trust me the clipboard carriers won't have any physical force training and they will issue warnings and fines. No batons etc but they won't be handing em out like confetti. Like police they'll be thin on the ground, and you'll have a right of appeal for any fines due to it being civil law.
Simple way not to get fined or worse follow the rules.
You know I don't like this government but local lockdowns in some areas are needed. If folk act irresponsibly then it'll mean there will be a need for tougher lockdowns. No one wants it and I think if folk behaved then this will stop the spread. Numbers are increasing and more folk are now in hospital. It's a fact not one I like and i want to be able to get out walking and visiting my local like everyone else this winter.

Pretty much like NHS and public services being outsourced without proper Tender and scrutiny then. Not heard an outcry about that either

We won't be ok to do that until the elderly and vulnerable are isolated. Until that happens deaths will continue. The question is how many deaths are acceptable before the public get angry?
