    Paul Eddington was perfect as Jerry in The Good Life, as he was in the Yes Minister role. It’s interesting reading about Peter Bowles growing up in a poor area of Nottingham with outside toilet and no bath. With that accent and the parts he played I always thought he came from an upper class background. Good actor.

    100% agree, but maybe we'd see it differently if he did get that role, and if Del Boy was Jim Broadbent rather than David Jason.

    I don't think Jim Broadbent would have made a good Del Boy. Slater was perfect for him.

    Total agreed. He also said, if he had done it, he's have probably left after a few series.
