    The going is good at present, we are all on the same side, these are good times and life is good.

    Let's be reminded though that trust is still a work in progress. Things are going in the right direction. But let's not kid ourselves that this has always been the case. 'Divisional retention' is only one example of Americanism that we have seen.

    So without going off on a Sermon, feelings of the last 2 days should serve as a warning not only to our Leadership, but to owners in general, especially overseas owners:

    "One simply does not fck with English football"

    Isn’t the ESL a threat to their building a meaningful ‘portfolio’ of clubs though? Could be wrong of course, but I don’t see them getting an invite to join anytime soon

    Our owners to be fair made it clear they're in this for the long game. They're not willing to bankrupt the club and are playing by the rules. They've not been scared to speak out about dodgy financial behaviour from owners of all nationalities.
    To me they meet the fit and proper person test easily. Wonder how many owners in the Championship would do that, if the books were properly looked at.

    It would be just Barnsley F.C's luck to get to the Premiership as the big clubs leave and make it a second division in all but name.

    No matter it’s still authentic and a reasonable chance of getting a European place and facing the likes of Valencia , Roma , Lazio St Petersburg etc . What’s not to like .

    Our owners are doing exactly what they said they would do. Nothing crazy, incremental improvements to the squad and building on the recruitment legacy from the previous regime.

    In all honesty I'm glad we've got them. I feel I'm in the minority though sometimes!

    I think the chaos of the wider footballing world has fell onto their lap and they're grasping the nettle and taking advantage of the temporary level playing field that has created.

    I mean this is literally the last thing we have to worry about with our owners. They say 'Divisional Retention' rather than 'Staying Up'. Quick - grab the pitchforks, light the lanterns, storm Grove Street.

    I think it would be a wonderful thing if they opened their books fully.... to allow scrutiny of their investment vehicle accounts in Hong Kong and what interest they have in certain funds linked with one of our owners/directors in the Cayman Islands.

    Just because we're in the playoff places currently, lets not make out these American owners are the most valiant and noble of white knights. There are many questions still to be answered.

    And I would refer people to investigate the loan situation at OGC Nice which was uncovered which was at a very high APR and had conditions of repayment in full if the club fell below a certain league position. One of the aspects the Nice supporters were most concerned with.
