They now have no choice but to retaliate, which will mean the US will have to retaliate etc. etc. Until eventually people start coming home in body bags because someone set fire to a sentry post at an embassy.

As for proof, you obviously disregarded the part where I described the loon at the embassy gates screaming about killing everyone inside. If this escalates then it will be the fault of the folk attacking the American embassy in Baghdad, not those retaliating as a result of the attack.
