    Notice how he's dissapeared?

Classic Trixter that. Says something idiotic, usually involving making Britain great again or showing the world who's boss - then when it's taken apart using actual real life facts he just bogs off.

I think this is far more about Trump playing to his own supporters at home with an election coming up, strengthening the dollar & with little regard to world affairs. He is very much an isolationist, happy to put up tariffs & play the hard man. If there is a retaliation on US soil by some group supporting Iran, that will play into his hands further. Xenophobia is his stock in trade. I fear Russia & China getting involved, but there is already conflict in Syria that Russia have played out carefully & I think things are less likely to escalate as Russia are unlikely to want to get drawn in, as least not overtly.

I’m not sure how you got to me supporting the Iraq war ( which I didn't) and hating the Shah of Iran. My post was about taking swift and decisive action against the leaders of your enemies. Thus demonstrating your resolve and their vulnerability. Had similar action been taken against the heads of the socialist (that word again) workers party and their military leadership rather than doing nowt and hoping they’d go away then millions may not have died. As it is America is trying to prevent war by showing restraint at Irans provocation rather than invading them as they did with Iraq.

What would you do then Colliers, ask them politely to stop attacking your embassy whilst threatening to kill everyone inside. ?? Or teach them that actions have consequences.

LOL, sometimes a rational debate about world affairs is not a good road to go down on here. I'm in despair we have 5 more years of conservative rule, but up to now Raab has done the right thing, calling for de-escalation & not siding with the US. I'm hoping Johnson doesn't get drawn in, with promises of the feted trade deal. We need to keep well out of this, as do everyone else in Europe. Iran is not a threat to us as such, although their human rights record is horrible. (US human rights not great themselves I'll add). Their allies are strong though & if it plays out badly the whole world will be the loser, just like with Iraq. The whole thing feeds the far right movements, which I'm sure Trump is very well aware of.

Is there any proof that the Iranians have been attacking the American embassy in Iraq. I would say its the people of Iraq that wants the Americans out of there country.

Iran av bin ere before, they will just bide their time and hit back as they feel fit, they will retaliate when and where who knows. Iran will do their dirty work through a 3rd party as they av and will continue to do.

You are right. The same things are going on elsewhere though on the other side, with the USA & us using Saudi to intervene in Yemen & Russia getting involved in Syria. The point is that stepping these things up will result in no winners, just losers & a lot worse than cuts & bruises,

Oil is not the future though. The USA, Iran & Russia sit on massive reserves & want to keep their value high, but really if the planet is to survive we need to move on. That is simple sense. I'm 54, so not losing too much sleep about my wellbeing. The technology is there to make oil fairly redundant in 20 years & I think this is at the heart of it.

That’s a brilliant point, all we need to do now is find a politician who gives more of sh*t about the future than the next election or the next New Years honours list. LOL

The Iranian militia or civilians who were protesting in support of Iran? Two very different things.

And is there proof of who did it rather than simply claims by a war monger?

I do not back the Iranians in any way, but unlike you, I do not jump to conclusions especially when a lying individual says anything without proof, but I hope you realize that Trump as just preceded with an act of war yes like it or not taking out the Iranian general was an act of war, let's hope that our lying Buffoon of a Prim-Minister keeps well away.
