I'm trying to find out when Kendray was built, specifically Birk Avenue.I've tried using goggle but I can't find out.Any body know how to find out .
https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/barnsley-maps/historic-maps/ Not perfect but gives an idea.It had been built by the 1930 map but after 1924 looking at another on a different site....https://www.francisfrith.com/kendray/map-of-kendray-1924_pop746083
Hey up mate, well Colley Avenue/Cres had them Anderson air raid shelters so deffo pre WW2. Seem to remember being told that the 2 houses on Donny Road /bottom of Lambert Road to chippy were the first built.
My mate lives on Birk Avenue and he'd like to know what year they were built. He reckons about the 1920/30.s.
How you think the planning g conference at the time went? “Hey up Ken” “Hey up Ray” Ohh look over there, it’s ken n’d Ray Wonder what we can call the new village
Anyone got / know where to get photos of Hoylemill from that map? Would love to see what it looked like with the railway bridge
