How big are the two compartments side by side? The Ninja foodie XL we have is pretty big so wondered if the footprint is double the size. Can you get a whole medium chicken or a duck in it like you can with the one we have? 'Ninja' is brand name so people have to make the distinction between all the models (they even make an oven grill) I believe though the entire range of Ninja is good build quality and replacement parts are pretty reasonable.
Some complaints I have seen have been about scratches appearing on the non stick pot surface but ours seems OK though they do say use silicon tipped utensils for getting things out or for stirring ingredients which we do and our pot is still fine.
Getting suitable sized bakeware etc for our Ninja is a bit tricky for the model we have (which is round) so making 4 medium Yorkshire puds proved tricky but we can make either 5 small or two bigger ones using ramekins that fit snuggly into the pot's diameter.
I would not want to give up on teh pressure cooker function we have but I am sure the Ninja dual Air fryer is a cut above the average air fryers you can buy like the Philips we used to have. Some people (mainly Americans) on the many websites dedicated to Ninjas post pictures of their kitchens with a worktop lined up with a number of different models...air fryer, grill etc. Most say they hardly use the old oven.

One additional benefit (especially in summer for us here in Italy ) is the fact the kitchen does not get as hot as when we use a conventional oven.

We have the smaller dual zone one so can't fit a chicken in, but the two trays are more than ample for a main meal otherwise.

Anyone who cooks rather than buys ready meals and takeaways, especially with a family can slash their electricty bills by having one or other of these Ninjas. I still advocate buying the Ninja foodie Max 7.5 litre over the dual airfryer (not, I stress because the latter is inferior or a bad choice) but simply because of the pressure cooker/steam feature that is missing on the dual fryer.

The single Foodie also has a larger single capacity (I looked it up) of 7.5 litres as opposed to 7.6 between two compartments for the dual one. I don't belive you could get a duck, large joint , whole fish or medium sized chicken in the dual one unless you jointed them first.

All that said, the choice comes down to personal prefecernce and the type of food you cook most frequently -Horses for courses. They really are a revelation if you cook, although adapting to lower temperatures, quicker cooking time is a bit tricky if you are used to conventional cooking. You suddenly find stuff in the Ninja is ready when you are still prepping accompaniments veg sauces etc. I cooked a1.5kg chicken in the Ninja in an hour at 180C without preheating! A 2 kg roast pork joint - 48 min pressure cook, 10 minute depressurise, (add spuds) 20 mins roast, 20 minutes air crisp .
(1 hour 40) + 10minutes resting. Conventional oven 10-15 minutes pre heat to 200C, 2 hours plus to roast (adding potatoes about 55 minutes before end) = 2 hours 15) +10 mins resting.
meat jucier with crispy crackling (I often found to get crackling crisp in ordinary oven pork meat could be a bit on the dry side).

I'll second that. Why don't you use it? Been cooking for since I left home nearly 50 years ago. I love food and cooking and find it a brilliant versatile piece of equipment for many (not all) things.

probably because we can’t be arsed reading up properly how to do stuff. Someone above described cooking a roast on numerous different settings. I’d rather just stick it in oven with some veg.

We tried doing chips in it numerous ways and they all ended up half black half like bullets.

maybe if we gave it ago it would be ok. But we mainly just used it as a slow cooker but we have one of those anyway.

Weve got a ninja foodi smart lid 15 in 1 thing.. admittedly i havent used it a great deal as the missus does most of the cooking but shes seems to use it all the time and some of the food has been really good.

Weve done all sorts in it and theres a website with loads of recipes.. you can filter the recipes by the device you own to make sure they are achievable with the bit of kit..

    https://cookingcircle.com/?s=Foodi+max&_products=smartlid-multi-cookers

    Really good. Defo would recommend.
