Thanks for all this, we booked it in January we're staying in the Grand Hyatt next to Central Station. Do you have a link for any of the passes or is it just a Google search?

Marriot Marquis in Times Square. Great location, and cracking revolving restaurant on the top floor.

If you want to go up to the crown at the Statue of Liberty book online it books up months early. Make sure you use the official site as there are a few that charge a premium. Tickets on the day just let you onto the island.

I've heard you now can't do that because of the damage it's causing to the statue, l did also hear the ferry queues are unreal for it.

I think it was this site we used.

    http://www.attraction-tickets-direc...ts/new-york-multi-attraction-passes/city-pass

However I think if you Google new york city pass, then you'll find it no probs.

You get something like 6 attractions but you have a choice from a fair few.

The Manhattan at Times Square or The Lexington (err, Lexington Ave/42nd Streetish)

Both great, central locations, don't be tempted to save a few quid and go too far up, or across the river as the public transport isn't very good (in my opinion).

Plus a lot of the quieter areas seemed a bit rough for me during the day, definitely not the kind of places I'd want to be wandering around at night.

We didn't bother going over to the statue. It's not as big as you'd imagine. We went on a helicopter ride which sets off from near the ferry port for Staten Island. Flies right by the statue and you can get all the pics you want. If you do fancy anything like that though, do your homework as it cost us an absolute fortune as there were fees you had to pay on the day too.

Its 20 years since I was last in New York and we stayed just down from the Grand Hyatt, great cocktail bar . Don't know if its still going but the Oyster Bar downstairs in Central Station would be worth a look , the Saloon in the corner had a great bar.

    Always wanted to go
Had 4 nights there last year
Stayed at hotel at 37 St and Madison - great location - nice hotel
Very very disappointed with the city
York is a better place than New York
As for London then New York is nowhere near as good
New York - it's not pretty in fact it's ugly - what's nice about huge concrete rectangular blocks ???
As for the night life - the village !!! - Barnsley is better

Thoroughly recommend catching the ice hockey in Madison Square Garden. That building is very special.

    Stayed at Morgan's Hotel
Walked miles from north of Central Park to the boat that takes you to Ellis Island
Ugly place - not cosmopolitan- not stylish - full of American people in shorts and t shirts
For example - saw 2 turbans, saw just 2 Indian restaurants .......is this the City of the World - when compared to London ??? No it is not
Just Compare St Pancras to Grand Central.......no comparison

Is this a joke? I love London but I found grand central much more beautiful than St pancras. And in terms of cultural diversity, did you try China town? I didn't count turbans though... And in terms of architecture it is simply stunning

Aye were definitely doing that, we've been told to book it whilst we are there so we can see what the weather is like but someone we know that's going the same time as us have pre-booked.

What a load of rubbish - you've swallowed the hype
Other than the 2 museums Met and natural history the only other building was the Woolworths building - all the rest were huge boring blocks of concrete - no boozers no street cafes - fook all
    Macy's - Bloomingdales......Shops in Meadowhall are better
Taxis.....we all think Americans are tall ......huge cars that are that small in the back that you are bent double riding in them
    It's ***** !!!

Go and see Book of Mormon. Even if you can't get cheap tickets. It's brilliant and I can't recommend it enough.
