http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/blown-away-by-modern-technology-please-explain.279054/ Following on from Mr Badgers' post .... How in heck does WiFi work? I'm willing to accept that I can send a message to the other side of the world in a millisecond, but how the hell does that film I'm streaming get from my router downstairs to my laptop without any wires. It's literally magic.
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-does-wi-fi-work/ Nothing fancy I'm afraid , just radio waves at very high frequency . Sometimes if your having wifi problems and you phone your provider they ll change channels on your router incase someone local is using the same channel as you . I guess the impressive part is that they ve managed to create transmitters and receivers so small , but in reality the technology is no different to your tamia grasshopper radio controlled cars built back in the day .
