Realistically, I think we need to win more than half of our remaining games to stay in the division. Despite the improved performances of late (Coventry aside), it isn't going to happen. That being said, if we can gather a bit of momentum, go undefeated in more than half of our remaining games, I think it will stand us in good stead for the start of next season. Rotherham and Wycombe started this season relatively well after finishing reasonably well last season. Obviously they had continuity on their side, which might be our downfall with many of our form players being loanees, or likely departures. Having a head coach and recognised CEO for a full pre-season, might just help balance that out.
Rotherham and Wycombe have had the same manager for years now. If Derby get bought I think they'll hit the ground running and Peterborough are always there or thereabouts. Think they'll be ahead of us early in the season personally.
With the number of players entering the last year of their contracts and so likely to leave, I honestly can't see any momentum being carried over.
Was talking about this on the way home last night, a good run of results and performances may not save us, but the positivity may bode well for next season in any scenario
I don't think we can take momentum from one season to the next at this cub under this ownership. We could well be in a position where we've multiple people leaving behind the scenes and on the pitch irrespective of the division we're in. if you throw in relegation on top of that, and it's likely a necessity for our better players to be moved on to balance the books given the lack of safety net we now have.
But now we’re Springing into action, I know 1 Swallow doesn’t make a Summer, but let’s enjoy the good ‘bits’ We ought to rename this thread, ‘The Seasons and their Reasons’
