Not your home town team ? Then why the obsession with blackguarding BFC. It’s not a case of going along with whatever they say and do it’s what it is, get over it. Bitching and griping won’t move things on. I’m old but in five years I’ll probably be still here and the current hierarchy won’t but my beloved Barnsley will. You say you’re a fan (short for fanatic) not a supporter. That sums things up.

For some people, not castigating means defending or so it seems to me.

So if this slump that we're currently in, carries on down to Lg Two or even worse.
Your just going to accept it still are you, because apparently "it is what it is" (whatever the heck that means)
Well good for you, but I and a lot of other fans though will criticise the club at times, if/when we think is necessary.
Which we are entitled to do, like on this subject about M'lad.

Sorry George but that's very patronising. Youre criticising a Barnsley fan here for expressing an opinion. It very much smacks of 'Im a better supporter than you'. Its irrelevant how long anyone has been going, its irrelevant if the current set up won't be here in 5 years time. Its perfectly legitimate to slag things off if there's enough wrong to warrant a slagging off. If all we have is positivity all of the time then we should be comfortable when BFC morphs into a premier league tiddlywinks team but still resides at Oakwell. Nothing wrong with criticising, where it's explained, and we are all fans and supporters on here are we not?

What do people expect this next season? Some are getting STs and some not. Would be interested to hear what either side expects to achieve.

I think fans would like to know the thought process behind some of the dealings. I don’t know if these are the views of the posters you’ve mentioned but I’d love to see the following 4 questions asked -

There was a distinct lack of pace in Neil Collins side, why was it not addressed in the summer?

Why did we leave ourselves really short at left wing back / striker?

Why did we sign so many central midfielders that couldn’t all play? Whose idea was it to spend such a huge chunk of the wage budget on these players?

And finally, why do you keep talking about how you want your managers to play a high press and that them failing to have been factors in sacking Collins & Clarke yet we have barely any pace at the back? Surely that’s just suicidal as we saw at Orient & at times in the first half on Monday.

Great post & I hope they give you a reason to renew.

Just out of interest where does the idea come from that Clarke was lazy? I’ve not really seen that on here.

Just heard a few whispers that he wasn’t the most proactive and ‘let’ his backroom team do a lot of the training through the week.

The impression he created was that he was a bit workshy - again, this is anecdotal and I can’t substantiate it. Not really relevant to what I was saying anyway, at least not to the point I was making.

If he was lazy and let his backroom staff do a lot of the training and we massively underperformed according to the sporting director and owners then it makes even less sense to give a key member of that backroom staff the job.

Not if they were taking the training to how they were instructed and want to do things different personally.
