Withdrawn from games this weekend after receiving death threats following the sending off at West Ham!
I cant get my head around some people and I despair for the way this country is going. I think we all have had bad thoughts about referees over the years but the idea of really doing physical harm to a referee doing his job ( even if badly) is totally out of the question for me. Id never buy Willard or Kettle a beer but death threats! - its beyond unacceptable and whoever is making the threats needs to be traced down and charged
It's incredible - honestly don't get that wound up about football. To me it's a distraction from life not life itself. Last year has put that firmly into perspective for me. Many might not agree but that's my view of it.
I wouldn't kill Gary Willard but i would slap him in the face with a very large fish and give him a Chinese burn. Is that acceptable?

Wouldnt buy wilard a drink id probley chuck one over him, he must be knocking on now but wish fjortoft hadn't rugby tackled the man who was going to give him a slap. Death threats is too far though Mike Dean should probley have a break from refereeing anyway.
There comes a point where a ref gets too big for his boots. I don't condone death threats but I think refs court controversy and want the spot light. This gives him the spotlight. He once celebrated a Tottenham goal and made out it was because he played a good advantage. It's needlessly put him in the spotlight and brings the game into disrepute. This I think happens with key decisions. They're there to ref not spice things up. I'd sooner a game be dull as dishwater and the right decisions be made.
Willard is the only referee I've ever come close to going over the wall to. He was not only incompetent he also totally lost control of the game in a way I've never seen a referee lose control either before or since and it just shows how bent the FA and PL are that he was allowed to get away with it without public sanction.
It'll be the same v Chelsea on Thursday. Sumat will transpire. Whether it be a penalty not given or goal chalked off, infinite stoppage time.

Dean is such a show pony and loves the attention. I suppose everyone remembers the game at Oakwell against Leeds when he gave them a penalty when he was at the half way line. Television showed the foul was well out of the box. But that’s Dean for you! Nevertheless he doesn’t deserve the threats he is receiving!
There’s always been idiots out there, but Brexit & Trump have given licence to any arsehole to say anything they like to anyone, then blame it on the do goody liberals. When it’s actually the loony left who gave them a voice in the first place...
The thing about refs is.........................................try play a game without them. No doubt you've all tried.
Seems a very pompous individual. Quite unlikeable really. Hope he hangs up his whistle. It would benefit the game.
