Our best performance, and in fact our only performance, came in the first half at QPR, with a midfield 4 of Styles, Benson, Palmer and Brittain. Now we have the options of Gomes and Hondermarck to play in the middle, shifting wing backs inside, or defenders further forward, should only be a last resort if 3 CMs are unavailable. I still think we need 3 central midfielders though.
I’m not sure if you’re mixing me up with someone else or we’re barking up different trees, but I certainly don’t have an axe to grind regarding Moon. In fact I’ve stuck up for him a couple of times at games where he’s had a bit of stick as I think he’s trying his best in very difficult circumstances. However his performance in the last few games has been awful (in my opinion!). Not entirely his fault and he’s not alone either. Hence why I think he’d be better playing his first lot of ‘men’s’ football at a lower level. Perhaps there is improvement there, perhaps better reading of the game, in time, may negate his lack of pace somewhat. I just personally can’t see him cracking it at championship level that’s all. Hope he does, especially while he’s in red. I suppose with the written word, and the lack of tone that often comes with it, things can be interpreted different ways. Shake hands and move on?
If/when Schopp goes we're still going to have the centre-mid problem.. whoever you pick it's a weak pairing.. Until January at least..
Kane thing is a red herring @Loko the Tyke is right. He needed time away to readjust and refocus. If he had stayed he wouldn’t have been selected or would have been in and out and that would have done his confidence no good at all. Hopefully like Mowatt he comes back like a new signing.
