By far the best player I’ve seen at Oakwell this year. We got a good view of hm in the first half in front of the West and he tore Cadden to shreds and put some terrific balls in with his right foot. I have no idea what Warne was thinking switching him to the left wing for the second half but it made our task a lot easier that’s for sure.
He was very much a threat in that first half. Didn’t move over to the left in the second half until they brought Collins on, if I’m remembering correctly. The Charlton right winger was also one of the better players to have been to Oakwell this season and he also went quiet in the second half of that game.
He was good but I wouldn't exactly say he ripped Cadden a new one. Thought it was a decent contest TBF
Very surprised Wednesday let him go for nowt. Well they offered him a new contract but was a bit crap apparently. Quality player for this league
He's a good player for thus league that's for sure. It's a surprise that Derby can afford all these players. Oh that's right, they can't and it's happening again.
Much as I dislike Derby and what they have done presumably now with a clean slate (which is unpalatable) they can't pay transfer fees so they can afford 2-3 times what we can offer as they have crowds / revenue of 2-3 times ours. If our top earners on £5k a week then theirs on about £15k probably about right. Huge numbers for L1 but affordable. Duff said last week we have a midtable budget so just shows the job he is doing....
Was it Wildsmith that gifted Connor Chaplin a goal at the (whatever it's called this season) stadium a couple of years back (during lockdown)? I have to say he was pretty dire on saturday, could easily have given us another couple....
