Lewis Cook is only 19 had England youth caps and has played 70 games at Championship level, A good deal for Alfie would be around £4 million with sell ons in my opinion.
I take the point but we are in no rush to sell. By January Mawson will have played a good half season and has something in his game that Cook doesn't. In those 70 games Cook scored once. Mawson has already outscored him. We may not get an equal fee but I'd definitely use it as my benchmark
I think unless the bids a mental one we can't turn down we should hold onto him until Jan after he's proved his worth in the championship for another few months.
I just feel the different clubs he's been linked to is a clear sign of an agent been instructed to find him a bigger move.
This threads about as bonkers as it gets! Seasons 3 weeks old and because Alfie wasn't naked on an open top bus with young Alfie on his shoulders doing doughnuts in the centre circle waving a giant flag with "red army" accross the middle after he's scored he wants away. He might be sold, pretty soon and all, one day they all might be sold. Good luck to the lad if he is, if not I'm sure he will continue his development with us.
By the same token, like others have mentioned he's not said owt in the media saying he's happy here or wants to stay. The guys off once the deal is right. No doubt.
By the same token neither have 123,548 footballers currently plying their trade. If he goes he goes that's life.
We don`t need to sell, if he is the difference between us staying up or not then the fee should at least cover the money loss of dropping back a league, bout 4 mil. So imo we should be asking 5 minimum to get a decent replacement.
And Harry Maguire went for £3.5m as a league 1 defender who'd never achieved owt. £6m + 20% sell on absolute minimum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
