I know we all loved Matty James at Oakwell , the lad oozes quality & when we did not try to extend his contract there were a lot of disappointed reds fans me included , however it was clear that Val thought otherwise, clearly because he left him out now & then & never let him get through 90 minutes with Palmer & Kane being his preferred options , interestingly since his move to Coventry he has been a regular & Coventry have slumped , I am not suggesting this is down to James but I wonder if the style of the team has altered but today against Brentford Robins has benched Matty , it will interesting to see how his spell there proceeds .
What makes Brentford believe they can play it around at the back? They are just not very good at it and their keeper just gifted Coventry a second goal
I agree with you about him being a top quality player but I believe it was down to Val that we did not extend , anyway it doesn"t matter now , he has gone & we move on
Doesn’t look like it’s turning out to be a bad decision at the minute. Palmer is playing well and the club will rightfully want some return from the heavy investment in Kane. I thought at the time it would turn out to be a poor decision, but what do I know. No doubt a couple of defeats for us will be blamed on the departure of James though..
Would rather pay the wages on Mowatt than James. Not saying it’s a straight one or the other but I would much rather we keep Mowatt for a few more years than if we decided to go for James.
