    Please see the below bulletin regarding a van full of criminals who have been seen in the Rotherham area on 29/03/2020.

    They have been targeting elderly residents, offering to disinfect their weeds and gardens for cash regarding COVID-19.

    At least one elderly occupant with dementia has paid £60.

    Aside of the fraud element these individuals are going door to door placing the most vulnerable at risk of harm from COVID-19.

    Males were described as wearing surgical masks.

    Previously believed to be touting for gardening work (on elderly persons estates) in other areas.

    If anyone offers you this "service" ring the Police. Do Not Answer your door to anyone unless you are expecting them or they have credible ID.
    No one should be going door to door.

    Please inform your friends, family and neighbours - BY PHONE - observe the 2 metre distancing rule. Not all are signed up to received these alerts.

    Someone came to ours (a bungalow) no van no tools nothing. Mid thirties,black curly hair,beard and about 6ft tall.

    Eswing hammers ! When I was a project manager on site and a wood be joiner came for a job I'd ask to look what he'd got in the way of tools. If he had an Eswing hammer, Disston 'Philly' saw and Sorby chisels he'd get a start.

    From my earlier Alert

    The van of "Scammers" targeting the elderly have been arrested by West Yorkshire Police.

    South Yorkshire Officers will be bringing them back for interview at some point today, in relation to offences carried out in the Rotherham area.

    Thank you for your observations!

    Please remember- don't allow anyone into your home. No one should be going door to door offering any services.
    If anyone knocks on your door - do not let them in, unless you know them or they have made prior arrangements and have credible ID. If they are offering a service, report it to the Police.
