Do we have any kind of strategy for marking? Is it supposed to be zonal? Or is our defense just incompetent? Why was Watkins allowed to stroll into the box to nod in identical goals?

Is that bad you kind of hope it's a managerial tactic.

I think we practice not doing it, and the practice seems to be paying off.

I think once the transfer window has closed some poor play and bad tactics and defending has to be leveled at Stendel. There's a naivete there for sure. Would maybe dropping ten yards and consolidating after 20 mins have helped? I dont know...

i am not convinced this pressing tactic works .
I agree with Red Rain it didn't matter what tactics we employed last season
we had the best players ,we were the big dogs or one of them we could have employed any tactics and the end result would have been the same
yes it upsets the other teams early on but at what cost.
nobody can keep that up all the match.
after 20 minutes or so the effect has less and less effect
the players are burning themselves out. you cant just take a breather and recover and go again.
you will never recover fully and will just get more tired and drained as the match goes on and we are deffo suffering in arguably the most important part of the match where games are won and lost
    the last 15- 20 minutes.

We left Watkins completely on his own a few yards out FOUR times, and it's a miracle he only scored from 3. We clearly don't do marking.

Just watched Ollie Watkins post match interview and he sounded shocked to score three headers in one game in fact he said he doesn’t score three in a season.

You could see the third one was gonna happen from half way up the pitch as Cavare let him wander off on his own
