I think, from watching the home games (only listened away and seen goals on telly) that this league is particularly tight and it is really down to fine margins which team on a particular day wins. The Aston Villa game was an example. BFC were the better side for my money in the first half but couldnt capitalise/weren't positive enough in front of goal. Should have been in front but werent. Second half and Villa scored. Villa could have scored a few more after that and for a while were buzzing but bad finishing and bad decisions let them down. Second half we should have lost therefore and would have done on another day against a more clinical team. We could easily have lost 3 or 4 nil. But, then we scored, and on balance of overall play, given the first half performance it seemed about right to me. In other words... should have converted chances first half, conceded second half and got lucky, bounced back and then nicked a point.
A similar comment could be made about other games e.g. QPR. Errors and a bit of class from a free kick were all that game was about in spite of possession statistics for either side. And, although I didn't go to the Wolves game if one of the Wolves chances had gone in early on when Wolves had chances (radio) it would not have ended up 4-0 to Barnsley.....

In essence I think I'm saying that when we have chances at this level they need putting away or we'll be punished at some point in the game. In Division One the best footballing team tended to win in my opinion. Not necessarily in this league.

We're doing alright. We're competing in most games I think.

I think this post ties in with the post ..Marley must start.. and why he does not when we have a fit Winnall Armstrong and Bradshaw.. I agree with the populous that out of the four forwards Watkins does the most unselfish work and commitment, personally, I like him as much as anyone. But as the post above says about fine margins, if you are only going to get a couple of decent chances a game. Then you really do want them to drop to a forward who's record would suggest that, more often than not, they will score.. And if you have two said forwards on the field at the same time, then your chances of scoring and winning increase..
