The tweets hes getting is horrendous and its united fans who are not even hiding their identity. Ill be surprised if he still wants to play for them anymore
Just makes my head spin why people can feel this way. Looking at that screenshot of posts, one thing that really baffles me is that several of them appear to be from African/Asian people (and I’m going only on the Twitter names and use of Arabic writing). All really really sad. Another sweeping statement like, but I wonder how many of em have actually been to Old Trafford, or even live in England? I suspect a lot of this is people tweeting from all over the world, which makes it even madder.
It will carry on while people are allowed to hide behind social media profiles. The anonymity seems to both empower people and bring out their true character(either racist, or just a plain bully who will use anything at their disposal to cause pain. Or both). I think the only way to end it is for all those in the public eye to actually close their accounts. All actors, sportsmen, coaches, teams, franchises, clubs, leagues, competitions. The lot. Once Twitter and Instagram(in particular, seeing as they are built around celebs and brands) realize that it's going to hit them in the pocket big time, then they will do something about it. A weekend is simply not enough. As for the teacher mentioned in Rashfords post, he needs naming and shaming publically to show the pond life thew will be consequences for being a set of pricks....
Through legal process, absolutely. Think it could end very badly, if Rashford outed him directly through Twitter. Anything could end up happening to him, which Marcus would then have to live with.
I can’t even start to imagine how hard it must be for Marcus Rashford not to do it. Must be having to show unbelievable restraint. Not sure I could.
Unless it’s an account that’s been cloned or made up . A colleague at work daughter in law is a teacher who had a fake profile made on Facebook with posts about how much she hated teaching and the kids she taught . The first she knew about it was when the Head called her in to explain herself as they had loads of complaints from parents . Police were involved turned out to be her next door neighbour !!
I was accused by my own Dad of looking at porn on a works computer. He didn't realise that the trust has a web blocker. You can't even access facebook, ebay etc. It was just someone he knew being malicious. It turned out to be one of the Ambulance drivers spreading idol gossip. I didn't report the driver because he was a friend of the family and it turned out his sister worked with my Dad and his wife was the Sister on my department. It would have opened up a massive can of worms. I let it blow over. The irony is though I could have lost my job through my own father spreading Chinese whispers.

I was more disappointed than anything that it was people I knew and respected. I haven't trusted anyone since though.
