1/20 to get promoted is surely rubbish odds offered. Even accounting for bookies profit there must therefore be great odds out there for Luton NOT to get promoted but can't find them.
On betfair's exchange market they are 1.01 for promotion and 1.24 lay (against) which is about 1/100 to 1/4 not a good bet whichever way you look at it.
1.24 on the lay side means that you would be willing to lose 24 quid to make 100. In other words it's about 4/1.
Would have expected the odds to be more diverse for the 2 outcomes. I worked with a guy who made money by writing a mathematical programme that covered betting on all outcomes and by finding disparities between odds from different bookies was able to guarantee a profit. Was hoping to find maybe a 15/1 or better for no promotion which would have been worth a punt. Cheers.
i'm more concerned at their odds to beat the pikeys tomorrow, 17/20 on victor which is great value, add Mansfield @11/10 and a nice little triple your money bet
Dunno what Pompey odds are tomorrow, but I think they've struggled to get 1 draw from last 6 games with Shrewsbury.
To be fair, that's just based on Betfair where anyone can post odds they wish at any time, rather than a set bookie. I'll see if I can find some actual odds from someone. 5 mins later.... Can't find it. There are some interesting odds around though. Pompey are 10/1 to finish in the top 2. Luton/Us is 5/4. Luton/Sundeland is 11/4 We're 1/2 to finish in the top 2 Sunderland are 6/4 to finish in the top 2. Either are better than my half cut bet of an even tenner the other week with Toby on here.
