If we are signing players on loan that we aren’t able to afford (Matty James, Oli McBurnie) then I’m absolutely fine with that because they benefit us.

If they are loans with a view to buy then that’s also fine.

Any other loan signing and I’d not be as keen.

I just think a "holding midfielder" over complicates things. Whatever happened to one midfielder sitting while the other goes forward and vice versa. I can't see Dougall playing much if Mcgeehan and Mowatt carry on where they left off. Then there's Styles who I'm excited to see play. It's good competition for places.

Dougall has the quality to step up into the Chanpionship without question.

I’m not saying he’ll start, but at some point McG or Mowatt will be injured or suspended and he’ll grab his chance then.

He’ll be on decent money too, so he’ll need to be playing or on bench.

I like styles, but he’s behind Dougall for me. Experience counts in the Champ.

Yeah I agree to a certain extent. Get memories of a David Fox when I think of centre mids who can’t get across the half way line.

I think I’d word it as a “slightly more defensive minded” central midfielder as cover for Dougall. Someone that isn’t going to neglect tracking back and putting his body in.

I was thinking we’d play all 3 of Mowatt, McGeehan and Dougall as we’ll probably need more bodies in the middle in the championship but with our recruits so far this summer it’s looking like we’ll stay with the 2 central midfielders.

All depends on the formation that we play. If we have wingers pushing on then we need more defensive midfielders who cover.

If we can get players in without the need for loans I'd be a lot happier.
