Not saying he was saying just because a player joins after doesn’t automatically make him the replacement. Who was the replacement for Davies? Surely we didn’t sign two goalkeepers with the intention of playing both, by the logic of they signed afterwards clearly we did.
I think the message is clear, we sign players to make profits. This season hasnt been great in that department and we then found we had an overload of players and then admitted the squad was too big and tried to get rid of loads.
Wigan wil stay up and it’s our own fault for selling them Moore. Stupid decision to sell to a direct rival.
Highly unlikely Moore’s 6 goals will be the difference, we should be concentrating on catching the other teams above us who are closer
Odd though isn't it. A player signs a long contract, decides during it that he wants to leave and automatically we assume that they have delivered an ultimatum that the club either sells them or they will refuse to play. We then automatically label them as scum slag them off. The club signs a player on a long contract, decides during it that they want to sell the player and DO deliver an ultimatum of leave or the club will refuse to play them and nobody really noticed the hypocrisy.
Is it really Moore or Woodrow? Moore would play up front, Woodrow is now a midfielder. The question is would we be better with Moore up front and brown on the right or brown up front and bahre/Thomas on the right?
No and that’s not what I asked is it? I asked what he would have done If we had kept him until Jan to be safe? Despite the fact according to stats we struggle to convert our chances, it’s not scoring goals that’s the issue.
I’ll give you that. But not sure how that would have made us safe? Surely to be safe we needed to concede less?
Well all season we've passed the ball between the keeper and centre backs because we have had no physical outlet up front. This has cost us quite a few goals and quite a few points this season. With a tall physical presence up front would we have had to mess around with it at the back? I'd argue no
You asked what Moore would have done that Woodrow and Chaplin haven't. I pointed out that in my opinion it isn't Moore or Woodrow and that having the option of Moore means changes in other areas of the pitch.
I think with Moore in the squad we'd have more points and be either closer to safety or out of the bottom three. Obviously not safe no as our summer transfers were bad on much more than just the striker front.
Wigan with Moore in the starting line-up - P22 W8 D6 L8 - Points 30, PPG 1.364 Wigan with Moore not in the starting line-up - P14 W2 D4 L8 - Points 10, PPG 0.714 QED?
