I always thought his appointment was a bit left field. His cv looks great until you take out the assistanting elements. As a manager/ coach his record is, at best, mediocre. It could have been genius at the time but I fear hindsight will prove otherwise.
Totally agree with this. His managerial record elsewhere is underwhelming and frankly difficult to assess given the leagues he's been in. On that basis I fear his appointment was based on connections rather than achievement.
