His career's picked up! Always thought he'd end up taking an early retirement and coaching Athersley at 27, not being on the brink of Premiership stardom!
I thought genuinely he's one that we should have kept. In the few games he turned out for us. He shone. Shocked when we let him go. Good luck to the lad. Local as well.
Done really well for himself. Wasn’t anything special for Shrewsbury but did really well at Accrington for a few seasons. A few of us wanted us to go in for him when he was on a free transfer after he left Accrington. Clever player, can play anywhere across midfield or off a front man. Very comfortable on the ball & bags of energy. Lacks a bit of physicality but not a lot he can do about that.
He was a couple of years younger than me at Kirk Balk so always wanted him to get more of a chance here. Must admit though I didn’t ever see him as a possible premier league player.
I think him, Rose, Noble-Lazarus & Digby were all poorly managed. They should’ve all been out on loan in their teens to get some experience. In reality when they left us they were all years behind in their development because they’d missed a couple of seasons of playing men’s football to sit in our reserves playing under 23’s football. I think we learned our lessons & started getting youngsters out on loan a lot earlier after this age group.
Really happy for him. He did well at Accrington, but even though Luton, at the time they signed him, survived relegation and weren't great, I was still surprised he got the move to championship club. But they've done wonders with him there, and he's done extremely well keeping his place. I really hope he & Luton do go up
I think in the odd glimpse we saw of him, he looked raw, and probably wasn't up to the championship. One we could probably have managed a bit better. He had a couple of loans where he didn't get much game time, but he left just after we were relegated to league 1. It's easy to say in hindsight that it might have been a hasty decision to let him go.
