It's a mystery to me how this guy clings on to Championship status - only Kettle two divisions lower is consistently more inconsistent. Today he went through a spell of blowing for the slightest contact and then to one where near assaults were let go. There was no greater evidence of his inadequacy than in a two minute second half spell when Andy Yiadom dived forward on to the ground and then reached out full length to make a deliberate handball to stop a potential Barnsley attack and was not booked, whereas a Reading player ran into a stationary Sollbauer and fell over and Michael was instantly yellow carded. Not an excuse for us losing but a p!sser all the same.
He was poor wasn’t he. Really inconsistent on which fouls he chose to give ignore or invent. Rightly booking Williams and Mowatt but ignoring at least 2 clear bookings for Reading players as for the booking on Sollbauer that was bizarre their player just ran straight into him Can’t blame the ref for our defeat though
Felt he was terrible in first half - I was going to say for both sides, but possibly not. Much improved in second.
