I'm guessing they wanted Walton for a couple of reasons. Isted possibly not signing a new contract offer if offered. As they couldn't guarantee him games. Walton as back up, going into next season. 1st choice is on loan to em this season. and 2nd choice at mo is on loan. At pompey. Seems they have a glut of goalies at different stages of development. We have a few mind.
