For me, yesterday was as close to an Ismael type performance as we've had since he left. Insane energy, high pressing against supposedly better opponents, forcing them into constant mistakes, excellent football played in the final 3rd where we could hurt them. It wasn't always pretty but it was incredibly effective. Derby didn't know what had hit them.

"supposedly better opponents" is appropriate. On yesterday's performance, they were definitely not better than our team. I would only have identified McGoldrick as good.

Derby have used their cash to pick up older players with established credentials. It will be interesting to see if any of the chasing pack can pip them to the last play off spot.

Yep I think they will have enough quality to see then through especially with Wycombe dropping off. I think Portsmouth may push for the last play off spot with a late charge.

Duff completely out thought Warne yesterday

Yesterday was what frustrates me about us. If we push an opponent and up the tempo we can beat anyone in the league but sometimes we slow it down for long periods and it's just not us and doesn't work. Get the ball moving and put them under pressure and I'd fancy us to get goals against anyone

I think Derby fans have said that it's the worst they played in 3 months.. since Warne took over.. but they couldn't handle being bullied really, we'd done our homework cos they like to pass around teams.

always the way. one team says 'worst we've played, we gifted them the goals'. other team says 'we didn't allow you to play and created the goals'

interviews like this from Korey Smith, always make me chuckle - "we were the better team really". no you weren't Korey, you've just been smashed 4-1

Not so sure about Portsmouth.. 12, point gap to sixth spot.. if they'd had beaten us a few weeks back it would have cut the gap to six points at the time, with them still to come to Oakwell..
I think Pompey will still huff and puff but have too much to do ..
Wycombe lost there coach but still decent in L1.. Peterborough of course will be there or there abouts. And Shrewsbury holding there own.
And still got to play all four teams 3at home 1 away

I'm going for Peterborough to nick 6th, they're scoring 5 goals a game! Plymouth are dropping away so could end up with nothing as dropping out of automatics usually means failing to go up through the play offs.

Only drew, against Fleetwood the game before, lost to the Wendies! Letting in 5 goals won't be doing their confidence much good!

March will decide if we go up automatic or have to settle for play-offs.

    7 games 4 at home .
If the Crowd backs them there's every chance the gap is narrowing .

Puzzled as to why, if we can do it once in what could have been the toughest game of the season so far, can't we do ie every game

Unfortunately football just doesn’t work like that. Every team will say exactly the same. Hell of a lot goes into winning a game of football. Has to be winners and losers.

I thought the first half yesterday was almost like the first 45 minutes against Cheltenham but just against better opposition.

Normally I would say was he watching the same game as me, but he was actually playing in it. No wonder they got battered 4-1 if he thought that they’re were the better team.
