Given he and Wissa got their moves and the one player who did what the norm expectation would be in carrying on playing; Marc Guehi, didn’t, you can’t imagine too many people ‘behaving’ themselves in future windows. Players have no power outside windows. Clubs themselves have no loyalty - players use the limited time they have any sway. It isn’t good; in fact it stinks. But sadly it’s a modern change that’s not changing back; and it is going to get worse given we’ve seen what happens when you don’t spoil for a move. At least Guehi’s worth in terms of a wage will be a lot bigger next summer - but he’s a serious injury or poor season away from never getting his marquee move. Feel for him.
