They were down to 12. One got sent off and another got sin-binned with about 5 mins left, I just caught the end of it. Not a big union fan to be honest.

Italian starting hooker was injured, and his replacement got sent off. This forced uncontested scrums, and the penalty for that was for Italy to lose another player. Then there was a late yellow card. Absolute farce.
Italy started with 15 - Italian hooker sent off and then another Italian player had to be withdrawn taking them down to 13 then another Italian at the end yellow carded. Italy ending up with 12. why was the 2nd player withdrawn ? How's the baby getting on ??

Italy have gone 40 6 nations matches without a win. Talks of having them taken out if the competition but who if anyone would be at a level to replace them in Europe?
I don't agree with that. The six nations should stay European and pinching South Africa would weaken their own tournament with New Zealand and Australia. There should be a yearly promotion/relegation. So at the same time as the Six Nations have six other European nations play a second tier version of it. Then every year there will always be one brand new country playing.
