Begs the question what are these footballers doing outside of work that is causing them to have significantly higher infection rates than the general public?
For me also begs the question why a covod secure restaurant or Pub has to close but football can continue.
Are they though? Seems to be 3 or 4 a week. 92 clubs, 25 players per club, plus staff. Say 20 staff per club on average? Might be a lot higher, I don’t know. When you factor in coaches, media etc. So about 4,000 people in the ‘football bubble’. 3 or 4 a week seems about right to me from that?
Regardless a restaurant or pub can be operated with much less chance of spread of a respiratory virus than football clubs can be. It's wrong. Football clubs in Tier 3 and 4 areas should have to close.
This week 6 at Ipswich 4 at millwall 1 at Rotherham 3 at chesterfield 1 at Peterborough 4 at Sunderland 3 at Bristol There are more clubs than that, they're just the ones I remember off the top of my head.
But you can’t count those 6 as 6, it’s 1 really due to the nature of close proximity of the people involved, being more than the general public. So 7 in the week really. Still not massively above the general public I don’t think?
If you can't count the 6 as 6 then you can't count the 4000 as 4000 you have to count it as 92 surely. It's either 7 in 92 which is 7608 per 100,000 people or its 22 in 4000 which is 484 per 100,000 and that's just the cases off the top of my head and is only the ones that have led to game cancellations too. It's much higher than the general public.
No, because all 4,000 have a chance to contract is separately outside of the club, but as soon as they do so, there’s a much higher than normal chance of passing it between each other, surely?
Took me away last night to a re-education camp. Sat in my Kitchen with a mask on now. I need to go to the shop later so I'm going to quarantine myself in the garage with my shopping for a week on my return to just be safe.
I don't actually want football to be shut down and clubs go bust. I just think they should have to shut if other none essential businesses are forced to do the same.
What would really ruin my Christmas is if the Football and Racing is cancelled too. Christmas Day doesn't really do much for me after we've exchanged gifts I look forward to boxing day for a beer and a bet.
Yeah he's walking now. Spend all my time chasing him from the living room into the conservatory. He likes trying to pull the Christmas tree over and rip the Venetian blinds out lol
No time to be bored when you're chasing toddlers! Christmas definitely becomes a lot more enjoyable again when you have children to share it with.
I beg to differ. If a professional football club, well drilled in safety protocols, who employ medical staff, have testing facilities and only a relatively small number of accountable employees to worry about, can't prevent outbreaks...what chance does big Al at the Nags Head have.
