Sounded to me it’s all about the clubs ambition, Dane did say not all about money with Alex. I think he’s looking for indications that the club is willing to build and not keep selling best players. Woodrow extension, not selling players and indication we are starting to sign better quality players all a good start. Would think bringing Dykes in wouldn’t hurt either.
Personally I think we should look to our own future now. It sounds like we have pretty much offered him the best deal we can and he’s passed on it. So I think we look at who we want to captain the club going forward and it shouldn’t be someone not committed to us.
I think we've still a chance of getting him to sign a new deal, especially if it's a 2 year one with a mutual option. I think if we throw our teddies out of the cot and ostracise him, we've no chance of that happening. And I don't think we can criticise his efforts. He's given his all and I can't fault him. I'm more than happy to give him time to work out what is best for him.
